So, today it was finally time to celebrate Sarenka's birthday. I'd been looking forwards to it a while. The plan was to go to a pizza restaurant, and we did follow it, it was just expanded a bit :)
Just... Sitting by the sea, eating watermelon, talking and listening to the band that was playing outside, by the bar... Lovely ^^ I'm always happy after days like this one. It's just, well, awesome to spend time with the people you care about.
And wandering around town with everyone as well. Even though I was wearing heels, and my feet hurt. I'm not made for heels, but it's nice gaining some extra centimetres. (Yeah, I'm short)
Laughing, talking through almost the entire "The Emperor's New Groove", laughing some more, pleasant news mixed in with the rest... I''ve had a day I won't forget for a very, very long time. Let's do this again, 'k?

Yay! xD I think I've cut off about half of my hair, maybe a bit more. I had a lot of hair, it was getting too much, actually. So I went to the hairdresser, and now I'm really happy!
It's just so bouncy! It curls slightly, now that it's no longer so heavy, and I can make these really cute ponytails. I'm going to buy hairclips, and I'm not sure if I'll ever change my hairstyle again. Or I will, I'll get tired of it, but you know, I say this anyway...
Happy happy^^

What makes us who we are? This little question has been buzzing around in my head for a long while. What makes us like what we like? When I asked someone this, I got the answer "we do", and of course she is right. But sometimes, when you stumble upon something that just feels so right... I don't think we decide it then. I have this relationship with all things even remotely connected to magic, for instance. Saying I'ver always loved it isn't wrong. I've never not liked it and known of its existance at the same time. And I doubt it has anything to do with inheritance either. Mainly, that would be very depressing, and in my family, everyone has very distinctive interests. I'm not going to answer my own question - I can't. It's too impossible to say xD
I think I'm starting to become more 'me' than I was a while ago. It feels nice. I used to keep this shield, this shell, up around me, making sure no one could see completely who I was. Or, no one is wrong. I'm pretty certain some saw through it, and those are the people I care about the most even today :) But I believe almost everyone got the wrong impression of me before. If someone showed up who hadn't seen me in a few years, they'd think I'd changed radically. But I haven't, I've just got more guts. It's still me, it's just that my little shield has been teared apart, and I'm happy. I like wearing strange earrings and black jackets and converses. I like messing a bit around with jewelry. Listening to music people wouldn't think was me. But it is me. I'm happy. I've got a bunch of people to hang out with, and I feel like I belong. Thanks to all that makes that happen :) (All I need now is to let my nerdy side out a little. Gambit rocks!)
And at last: I don't believe in stereotypes. I'll probably write more about this later, but for now:
If high school stereotypes existed, what would you call:
The black-clad pink haired girl who loves metal, but who has a passion for physics and does really well at school?
The platinum blonde who cares a lot about clothes and make-up, who is popular but is really kind to everyone, no matter what?
The rather normal, popular girl who loves My Chemical Romance?
The girl with glasses who is good at school, listens to rather noisy music, dresses in black and wears orange, square earrings?
The guy who is just like everyone else, and loves Bring It On-movies?
No, stereotypes don't exist. Some are pretty close, but we've all got something different. We're all something more than stereotypes. And yes, all of the people above are people I know or know of. One is me, you should be able to guess who.
And it's getting late, and I'm obviously not at a party. Life sucks :( Oh well. There'll be other chances, I'm sure. But I need a life. If you see one for sale, give me a tip. Good night!
Love you all~
*huggles for all of you reading*

Handicap? HANDICAP? Come on.

In Norway, there is this woman, Ms. Monsen, who has gotten a prize, Fritt Ord. Means free word, but that's beside the point.
She has managed to claim that children of lesbian women will grow up having mental handicaps because of the lack of a father, and because lesbian women don't like men. At all. In fact, they are just like cows for them. Come on. Mental handicaps for lacking a father? Now, tell me, how many children live only with their mother? Single mothers are common, really common. And then, in the end of her interview, she says that she does not fear insulting any children of lesbian partners, because surely they all agree with her, and hate their mothers for not having a father! (OK, perhaps I'm exaggerating, but that's how I interpreted it) I think not.
If I had grown up with only my mother, reading this would have made me very sad. You know, people turn out all right even if their father dies before they're born, or leaves them. They're not mentally handicapped. And what difference does having two mothers instead of one have? They will look after the children and raise them in a good way, just as any other people.
Secondly, all my expericence says that even if you're a homosexual, you don't hate the opposite sex. Perhaps you just don't find them attractive, but hate? That's taking it way too far.
No, I support that homosexuals can adopt and have children, and marry, and do whatever all heterosexuals can do. Am I a little obsessive when it comes to this? Yes, I know I am, but you don't say anything - ANYTHING - that might insult people I care about without getting a reply.

EDIT: I forgot. She also says that homosexual cannot create a family, because no matter what they do, the children will never be theirs, it's just pretending. They don't bring the society forwards. Have you heard of a little something called ADOPTION? You feel that is wrong to, I'm sure. And what's the deal with bringing society forwards? To me, it sound like bullshit. A lot of it.

I'm retiring from high school, it's killing me. 15 pages on Australia, well-written and with a good content, to be delievered on Friday, while I'm having midterms. I had yesterday off, and I'm a bit closer to the target, but still. This isn't going to be pretty.
Wish me luck with the math tomorrow that I haven't had to time to read to.

10 strange/funny ways to answer the phone

I've been discussing weird ways of answering the phone recently, and thought it would be fun to post a few. NOt all of these are mine, though. Thanks to those who contributed to the list :)
And don't you dare playing one of these on me xD Enjoy!

1. "Hello, guess who you have reached now!"
2. "Hello, this is [insert local pizza place here]. Do you wish to order?" [Must be said dead serious]
3. "Hi, mom! I just remembered, can you buy me [insert awkward item here]?" [Don't do this if your mom calls xD Caller ID might be a good idea]
4. "This is the emergency central, how can we be of service?" [Also dead serious]
5. "Oh, sweetheart! I knew you wouldn't abandon me! You love me still! You didn't really break up!" [Acting skills really required. If not it's just weird.]
6. "Boo." [It's funnier than it sounds]
7. "[phrase in a language your caller does not know. Caller ID necessary]"
8. [For salespeople, or other people with waiting music] "Sorry, can't answer right now. Just hold on a sec. [turn on music from e.g. Céline Dion]"
9. "Welcome to the cinema. [or other business]. Please press '1' to order ticket. To hear movie information, press '2'. For help, press '3'. [ACTING SKILLS. Really. This is actually very hard to make.]
10. "Sparkle!" [Or another totally unexpected word. Like 'strawberry jam'.]

"We don't fear the Internet", yeah right.

Recent news: Chinese government has banned youtube. Apparently, they got themselves a nasty shock, finding pictures of monks from Tibet being treated badly. "Goodness! People may feel sorry them! Ban it! Quickly, before it's too late!" And then, afterwards, some spokesperson manages to say: "Of course we don't fear the Internet! We only fear the truth. And what the people might do if we don't control their every movement."
Seriously. Someone has issues. I'm so glad I'm not living there, 'cause I like expressing my opinions. It's not as if it's only youtube. I'm still mad that google gave in and censored their searching engine.
Expressing opinions is a human right! Let me, and all others, speak freely without fear. This is not the way ot make a proper society. Let's stop hiding the truth, and be open. Make a better world!

What is that global warming that you speak of?

Today is the 25th of March. It's supposed to be the first month of spring, when the green colours reappear and the world starts getting warmer.
Yeah, right. Today, the temperature was about 6 degrees below zero. Freezing, in other words. And a couple of days ago, it snowed. It wasn't just a little bit, the flakes were the size of feathers, and it snowed vertically. Yay.
And I'm actually blogging about the weather. Yes, I'm awfully exciting, aren't I? Anyway, back to the point. The spring hasn't come yet, but it probably will soon. It's just, well, I love the changing of the seasons, and now it's time for spring to come soon.
Oh, and the title: It's not that I don't believe in global warming. I see myself as unable to make a stand right now, because I intensely dislike making a stand before I know every side of an argument. I see solar scientist argue with other scientist, I see people engang in shouting matches, and you know what? None of them try to do anything about the problem at hand. You'd think the scientists who believe in the global warming would run around trying to save us all, but I don't see anyone doing anything but argue.
It's probably too late anyway. Let's cover the world in ten metres high fences, and pray they won't burst. And should I care? I live so high above ocean level, I still won't get to live on the beach. Yes, I'm being sarcastic. There are better things to so than running around like headless chickens, I'm sure.
I think I'm digressing so much that this is turning into another topic entirely. I'm planning on putting a nice recipe here soon. Yeah. Thanks for reading. I don't know how many will see this, but feel free to comment if you do!
